HOLY GUACAMOLE!!! @ 7:13 PM

I have this weird love for tacos....so it came as no surprise that when my friend Crystal told me about Rocco's Tacos coming to Ft. Lauderdale, I was slightly....ok....extremely stoked. She had really hyped this place up too...so much so, that between me and Crystal we must've called them approximately 7 times a week anxiously awaiting the opening of their Los Olas locay. And with the HOUR long wait time for a table (on a week day...gasp!) it looks like we weren't the only two people in Ft. Lauderdale dying for the doors of Rocco's Tacos to open. And I'm not kidding about the wait people. I planned a going-away dinner for my great friend Dana and I when I called to make reservations (the ONLY way to dine-in here w/o the crazy wait), the hostess did her best to "squeeze me in". I thought to myself...wow....these must be the best tacos in the WORLD! But don't be fooled by the "tacos" in the name.....tacos actually take up a small section of the menu here. They actually offer a wide variety mexican cuisine.

Back to my title. People.....I have NEVER tasted guacamole so friggin' good!! I'm not even a big guacamole eater. I'm not even a little guacamole eater. After tasting this guacamole, made table side....I dreamt about it that night. Yes....it was just that good. It wasn't just the guacamole either....those chips....ahhh....those chips. They weren't like ordinary tortilla chips...they were seasoned...and baked to perfection. O-em-gee.

The tacos were great!! I had a steak, beef, and fish taco. Out of the 3, I would highly recommend the steak tacos. The steak was marinated to perfection and they are topped with guacamole. Stay away from the corn tortillas and stick to the regular soft taco tortilla. If you go with the beef taco, they are best with the hard taco shell.

Like I stated above....Rocco's is much more than tacos. Now....I went around the table and captured other dishes....but unfortunately I didn't write down what they were. (some food blogger I am!) Use your imagination!

So...coincidentally...Crystal is having her birthday dinner here Saturday night. My mood: *excited*

I'm a newly 30 (and I stress newly) year old attorney with a passion for good food. I guess I would fall under the category of "foodie" I love to eat.... sleep..... shop.... and eat! I find that my friends will often come to me for recommendations on restaurants for special occasions such as birthday dinners. The hardest question for me to answer is, "What is your favorite food"..... I really don't have "A" favorite food... because I truly enjoy eating a wide variety of cuisines. I decided to start this blog because I'm tired of hearing my facebook friends complain about me uploading food pictures every other week. Why not channel these pictures into a more effective mode of communication like a blog... and there you have it... the birth of Chow Bella! Enjoy!.... or should I say... Bon Appetite!
